John Crowley

John Crowley joined the Office of General Counsel in May 2020 as Assistant General Counsel – Research and Sponsored Programs. John focuses on supporting faculty and staff on a broad range of issues affiliated with sponsored research.

Prior to joining Northeastern, John was a civilian attorney for the U.S. Air Force. He served as the Air Force’s primary legal counsel for three Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Lincoln Laboratory. Prior to becoming an Air Force civilian, John worked as a U.S. government attorney for the U.S. Army Research Laboratory and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. John received his B.A. and J.D. from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps Reserve.
