Beth Libow LeFante joined the Office of General Counsel in May 2021. Beth’s practice is focused on labor and employment, student affairs, and general litigation matters.
Beth began her career as an Associate in the Labor and Employment Law Group of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP, where she advised clients on a broad spectrum of labor and employment matters. From 2012–2016 Beth served as Assistant General Counsel at Stevens Institute of Technology and from 2016–2021 she served as Associate General Counsel at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. In both roles, she counseled university offices on various compliance and litigation matters, with a focus on labor and employment and student affairs.
Beth received her B.A. summa cum laude from Boston College, where she studied Political Science. She received her J.D. with High Honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she was the Alumni Affairs Editor of the Connecticut Law Review. Beth is a member of the Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey state bars.
