Specifically, Jigisha advises the university on global initiatives, international students, international hiring/employment, international programs, and U.S. sanctions and embargoes. Prior to joining Northeastern’s legal team, Jigisha served as an associate attorney for immigration law firms in Boston, Massachusetts and Phoenix, Arizona.
She is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, and earned her law degree from New England Law and her undergraduate degree in political science from Arizona State University. She has also performed pro bono work in the immigration clinics of the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. Jigisha is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Council for Global Immigration, NAFSA: Association of International Educators, and the South Asian Bar Association of North America.
In the past, she has served on AILA’s National Student and Scholar Committee, CFGI’s Annual Symposium Taskforce, and the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston’s Board of Directors.
